Individual spirituality, the search for the indescribable, for the one, or the many, has long frustrated our species, probably from the beginning of time itself. History has well documented our often-bloody search for salvation, we like to think we have come a long way from those days, but in fact the human species feels very threatened thinking that someone else is right and we are wrong, or vice versa for that matter. The fact of the matter is, we will probably never know the answer to the age old question “What is the meaning of life?” so you might as well just get over it. If you look closely at your belief system no matter what it may be from one of the big three to some remote ancient philosophy, we are all unique in our spiritual travels. Of course there are those people who are just looking to have someone hold their hand and walk them into the promised land, or feel that because the majority believes a certain way that it must be right, you know, why buck the system. This is perfectly fine, of course it is not for all of us though, some of us like to play a more direct part in our spirituality, and are not looking for the sales associate but would rather converse with the owner. Furthermore you will find that even in a group of like minded people you will find much difference below the surface, one of the things that stands out especially in Paganism is the responsibility you have with regard to yourself, you are in control of your actions, and consequently you are responsible for them. You must weigh your choices as to right or wrong and benefit or pay accordingly. In the following I will try to explain to the best of my ability about the general concepts of Paganism / Wicca, as well as offer insight into my own belief system compared to the generally accepted view points on this subject. I would also like to state clearly and upfront that mine is not the last word on any of the topics that will be discussed, and I encourage you to go out and find as much information that you can, so that you can make up your own mind based upon the things that are important and significant to you.
